Well I bought the kit from ITP Diesel it will be here on thursday. I also bought the crossover line from them too. Planning on doing that this weekend.
I was just wanted to know if putting the prepump filter on would burn the pump any quicker by making it work harder. Or if it is really nessesary to have the prepump filter.
A pre pump filter is necessary when doing the hutch mod the BF1212 that comes with the ITP kit is no more restrictive than the factory mixing chamber you are removing

No. You are already removing some of the filters in the tank. You are removing the mixing chamber, right? It has 2 filters there. Also leave the big strainer one there. that is the one on the "foot".
Oh, HELL YES!!!! If some crud gets sucked up, where do you think it will go? Straight to your pump. then you will wreck the pump.
Those are two of the best preventative mods you can do- now you need a 6637 filter. Your truck will thank you. The HPX line is debated, but please post your reults. Since you are going to do both at the same time, you are going to be amazed at how different your truck is going to be.
Good luck, and just a warning--> this is how PMS starts!
Everthing except the celebritory cold ones when you are finished, and the instructions are excellent. Just run your tank down as low as you dare it will make dropping the tank easier.
No, but i had a nice time cleaning out the screen that is inside it and i think it still got crap in it. Oh well live and learn.. My ETA was a 12 pack, had to go buy parts to do it in the same day.
No trip to the hardware store. Just simple hand tools and a floor jack for the tank. I was the tester for the Excursions and actually had a few of my pics in the instruction sheet. Need something to remove the fuel lines is all.
