I have a 1980 Bronco. I want to know where I need to go on the net to find some heavy duty part to beef my Dana 44RR TTB and rear 9" to handle a 429cj. I need to rework the front axle soon. Whoever had this rig before me didn't keep the u-joints in the front greased. Now there is a lot of slack there. If I am going to do it, I want it as heavy duty as possible. Please help?? Suggestions, personal experiences, and web sites needed... Also, does OxLocker make a set-up that will work on the front and rear?? I also want to go with the heavier splinded axles.
An OX locker won't work with your front TTB because you need to use their special diff cover.
You'll destroy that front end in short order if you like the skinny pedal with that big block. There are no options to beef it up. Swap in a solid axle. A Dana 60 would be ideal but they're expensive and hard to find anymore. Even with a Dana 44 at least you could get the Warn shafts and CTM joints.
