Straight axle Q
OK, I have a '64 F250 w/ the stock susp. I plan on swapping rears to a 9" & want to do the ECI disc conversion on the strait axle up front. Is there any difference in the basic front axle from the 250 to the F100s?
Obviously the drums are different, but what I'm trying to figure out is if I can do the ECI swap to a 250 front axle. Or will I need to locate an F100 axle? I plan on leaving the stock heavy duty springs.

As near as I can tell, the the front axles are the same, the springs were changed to increase load capacity. I cannot be 100% certain but the shop manual shows the same axle to be used on the F100 and F250. The spindles should also be the same.

Alright, I was hoping that they were the same. I got a cab off of a '62 1/2 ton, & I checked out the axle on it (guy wanted to keep it, or I'd have grabbed it too). It looked similar to my '64s, but I wanted to ask. Shop manuals are good things! Thanx for the info.
