When removing the valve body in a C6, (required for removal of the shifter shaft for seal replacement) what do I need to watch out for when removing & replacing the valve body so all works correctly at the end of the day?

Lets get this into the tranny forum so you get better answers, hopefully faster too.
but what to watch for is don't lose the bolts, watch where they come from (2 different sizes and some are different lengths) and make sure that the shift linkages are engaged into the valves on the VB properly when you reasemble it.
Oh and in case you got them in some kit or another do NOT use gaskets between the VB and the case, it bolts up metal to metal, at most use an anorabic sealer if you feel the absolute need to use anything and don't be overly generous with that if you do.
