Went to test drive a 2005 F250 Diesel the other day. It had 70k on the odometer. Everything was perfect until I got on the interstate and noticed the engine would surge at cruising speed. When cruising the engines seems to coast, then raise RPM, coast then rasie RPM. I REALLY want this truck as its a great deal and in VERY good shape, but the surging worries me. Any ideas?
First and foremost you need to get an OASIS report from either your local Ford dealer or one of our resident techs here at FTE. The OASIS report will profile any Ford dealer preformed service / warranty work. The VIN will be required to get this info.
Id hate to say it, there may be a reason why its a great deal. Have a diesel tech look it over to see whats wrong with it before buying. Dont buy it unless the dealer agrees to fix it.
