you should be safe at 8 psi... you can probably run 15 psi with an intercooler without detonation but the stock pistons and rods won't like that much boost...
I will be running an intercooler plus m/w injectionso I think im gonna dyno running 8psi and 10psi to see the difrence. If it worth the xtra 2 psi than ill leave it at 10psi
I'm not trying to shoot ya down, but I would've gotten a V8. You'd get bigger bang for your buck, IMO. Additionally, I'd be worried about head gaskets with the V6, if it is still the cam-in-block design. The earlier ones, IIRC were 3.8 blocks and I know the 3.8 had head gasket issues. I replaced a bunch of them.
It would have been nice to have the v8 5.4l but i kinda wanna do things alitle diffrent. This is a demo vehichle for my company so i think with a turbo ill get more attention.
Your truck will be very fast with 8 - 10 psi on a turbo setup.
You should make great numbers while still remaining somewhat conservative, so it should still give you good reliability.
I'm not sure how strong the crank is on the 4.2, but it's relatively short since it's a V6 so it should hold up pretty well even if it's cast.
I'm curious about your 60-lb injectors. Seems a bit overkill for your setup, though they can likely be tuned to run well. Why 60 as opposed to a 42? Just curious, not slamming your setup or anything.
the 60lbs injectors were chosen for future upgrades..eventually I will be building the block to handle more psi and I dont wanna have to buy the injectors twice
