This site is slow...
What do you guys have for a upload bandwith? Because I have a 4 mbps internet connection and I found this site takes more then double the time to load then any other site I regularly visit. It also takes about 4x longer then any other forum to post a topic. So what’s up?

I use to have cable internet and FTE loaded fairly quick with 256 k.Then we moved and had to go to dial up so everything is slow for me. We are getting ready to move again and look forward to having Road Runner

This site is slow...but considering the popularity/amount of users, versus the need to maintain an operating budget. I think the speed is adequate.
PS..I ain't paid a dime to these nice folks, and FTE has saved me thousands of dollars, and has provided other advice on everything I ever asked about...even what kitchen sink I should buy.

It was going pretty slow when I was on earlier, nothing outrageous, just slower than normal. It just took <3 seconds from the time I clicked on it to load one page with a couple pics. That's not too bad if you ask me. Seems like it's running pretty well right now, most of the time lately.

With DSL it slows when in heavy use. Or snowing. There are a lot of people accessing this site. And that has to take It's toll. The more of ya that support It. The more It can be upgraded. And JMO if ya don't support it ya got no reson ta complain.

Re FTE: there are numerous times that manitenance is going on and that slows the site down.
Plus Being a FTE supporter we have own server so we reap the benefits of membership

Code 3 I luv your Sig. I play with my boys (5&7) by duct taping them to a chair lightly and have them race to see who gets loose first. Than use a little more tape the next time and so on till they can't get loose and say uncle. Ya suppose I could be arrested for child abuse? It's not like I leave them there. Although sometimes it is tempting.

Do you access this site through IE 7? I just uninstalled IE 7 and the speed of this site increased tremendously!
IE 7 even slowed down Outlook Express and it even sped up after I went back to IE 6.

January 2007 is turning out to be a record month in traffic/posts. We did a hardware upgrade on the back-end in December, but it looks like we're going need to deploy more resources on the front end.
