I have a problem:
Rust is comming from the inner side of the pilars (sides) of front windshield and some small spots on the top edge. A glass shop said that they would not put a new windshield in, because of the rust. It may cause stress and crack the glass.
A body shop said the best solution would be to cut out the pilars and replace them with pilars cut out from a donor Bronco (junkyard).
Is that a hard to do repair? They wanted ~$2500.00+ to do that job.
What other suggestions might You have on making the rust gone and the frame strong / stable so as to mount a windshield w/o aftermath problems?
Unfortunately, I believe that the windshield place and body shop are correct. That's a bad place for rust out. Any other repair besides cutting it out and welding new stuff in will not be sufficient, except for a beater.
