Is the housing worth it.... YES, every penny.
Only 99+ powerstrokes were wastegated.
No their is no compressor wheel upgrade for the 94-97 psd. These trucks come stock with the wheel the superduty guy upgrade too.

Ya need to find one off a early 99 powerstroke. Or some have cut up the y-pipe and made into what ya need. I have used both housings, and if ya have no plans for injector ugrade in the near future, its well worth it!

Like ltfox said with stock injectors a smaller housing will help out, but larger injectors will spool the stock housing pretty quick. Also the smaller housing you get the more drive pressure is on the compresser wheel.

With stock injectors (95cc) the max HP numbers you will see is 220-230 hp with good programming. The housing will just move the numbers to a lower rpm.

With larger injectors (stage 1s for example 160cc) and the stock housing hp numbers jump to 350+ with custom programming. Stages 1s set you back about $1,000 for rebuild ones. Supporting mods would be an intercooler if you tow so another $500-600. It all boils down to what you want and money.
