hey all well i got a problem, i hooked up my tap brake force controller to my 94 f 250 like it said, and if the unit is not on and you touch the brake you blow the fuse, and the abs light flashes, what have i done wrong, by the way the ford factory hook up was cut rewired and just destroyed by the first owner of the truck.
Well, there ya go... Now you have to ask yourself a question:
"Can I wire it back to what it is supposed to be, or is it hopeless?"
(This includes identifying the wires, and where they have to be in the connector)
i just need to fix this so i can tow my trailer there. i was wondering if anyones else had the same problem. i hooked it to the same wires where the connectors is and it still blows the darn fuse.

What color wires do you have to work with on the controller? I looked it up and you have a blue, red, black, and white. If this is so like most brake controllers, some colors don't match up. BC to vehicle. White to white, blue to blue, red to green, and black to red. I'm guessing this is the problem, but not certain.
Not sure if Ford changed wires colors, but you should have:
White- Ground
Red-12V
Blue-brakes
Green-brake input
Brown-Illumination
i have it matched to the colors and all hooked up the brakes work and lights all work. but what i am puzzled with is if the unit is not truned on and you touch the brakes it blows the brake lights and the abs, system starts flashing, but as long as you have the unit on there is no problem? but it is annoying because if you get in the truck and touch the brake you got to replace the fuse and you can not touch the brake at all till you power the unit up.
