I have a voyager brake controller for my 93 F150. I was wondering how it was suppose to hook up because I can't seem to find the plug that the controller has anywhere in the truck.
Did you buy the adapter harness for your truck? If you did, there's a plug under the dash, directly below the ash tray area.
This will only work to control the brakes if your truck has the factory towing package. Without the towing package, I think it'll power up the controller, but you'll have to run the blue wire for the brake signal from the controller to the rear of the truck.
If you don't have the factory towing package, you'll need to wire up trailer lighting also.

A pretty good number of these trucks had the towing packages. Easiest way to tell is take a look and see if it has a factory 7 wire plug in the rear, if so you have the towing package. And like said here buy the harness that plugs right into your factory plug under the dash.
My '89 didn't have a factory tow package so I hooked it to the brake light switch on the pedal and ran my own blue wire. I also ran my own hot wire to charge the batteries on my camper and car trailer. I just thought on the older truck it was more reliable to take the truck harness out of the loop. Of course I fused everything well. I do however have to admit my '08 was a lot easier with the plug and play in the harness. I also have a voyager on both trucks.
