Lucas Transmission Fix
Also, I'm working third shift this weekend, so I'll be at work till 8 am Sunday morning, and I'll be going back to work Sunday night, so I doubt I'll be available to help you guys, not that I'd be much help anyways. Carl can drive my truck if needed, so you'll have to work out the details with him on whether to use my truck or yours.

If we can't get it fixed Sunday are you sure it will be safe in the parking lot you mention? I don't want somebody complaining and having it towed off.
I really appreciate the help here guys. I don't know what I'd do if it weren't for FTE. Who knows, if this works out right I might even get you guys to help me get the BII I got for Christmas back together and on the road.
what's wrong with the BII?
As for the BII, I'm not really sure what's wrong with it. It was a project truck that one of our brothers bought a few years ago. He claims it ran and drove when he got it, claiming he drove it to work for a couple of weeks. I say claimed because I don't remember it ever driving, but I do remember that it ran. He gave it to us for Christmas this year, since he had no use for it anymore (looking at buying a new 4 door Jeep Wrangler) and we have been wanting it since he bought it.
At any rate, at this time, it's partially dismanteled, or atleast the engine is. The brother lost interest in it when he bought his '03 Ranger 4x4, and it's sat in the back yard for about 3 years now. It currently has an Ofenhouser (sp?) intake on it, but my Dad wants that back. I think we still have the stock intake, and they claim it works fine, so we may just need to put the truck back together and be done with it.
On the bright side, it has virtually brand new tires on it, so we don't need to worry about that little expense.

I don't really know a whole lot about the truck myself.
Talking to my Mom and Dad, they say the spare tire mount needs some work, and it may need a new tailgate. Aparently, there is about a 2 inch hole in tailgate where spare tire mount lock attaches. I guess the lock just mounts to fiberglass, and that glass has broken.
I honestly havent looked the truck over myself in several months. I'll take a look at it tomorrow when we go out there for the Galaxie and let ya'll know just what it needs.
Maybe Carl will chime in later. I think he knows a bit more about it than I do.
I can't say alot more about the BII other than that it's a solid truck. It's covered in surface rust but none of it is through. The interior needs a good cleaning as it has been used to store all the old dirty engine parts in. I have wanted a smaller 4x4 for some time now and when my older brother asked me what I wanted for Christmas I jokingly suggested his BII. To my surprise it was mine and Corys present Christmas day. My ultimate goal with it is to get it done for one of Jacks 4 wheeling trips. I have always wanted to go to Monument Valley (where the greatest westerns were made) and go on one of the 4x4 trails.

I'd love to get the Galaxie going soon but we were able to get the lights working on the VW so I can drive it for now. It doesn't run great because it has been parked for about 5 years but it should be ok for a while. I can also drive the Escort and Cory take the VW.
Look on the floor shifter for the BII. If it has P-R-N-D-2-1 it's most likely an 84 and has a C-5 non over drive auto tranny. If it has P-N-O-D-2-1 it's most likely an 85 with an A4LD over drive auto.
I think it might be a good idea to wait a bit on the Galaxie. We went to the swap meet today and ran into a guy that's been trying to buy my truck for a year now. Carl is looking for another 67-72 truck to use as either a parts truck or use his truck for parts on it. This guy offered him a 67 F-250 4x4 for $800, which will be covered by Carl's tax refund within a week or so. He had planned on probably using his tax money on the Galaxie, but with the run of bad luck he's had over the last couple weeks with it, he's a little shy about using it as a daily driver. This truck might make a good driver, and it's something that we just about can't pass up.
It's also possible that I may be trading my truck to him for a 75 crew cab 4x4. It's a bit rough, but I think it might be worth it.
I'm starting a couple of seperate threads on these trucks, if you want to look at them.
As for the BII, I got a few pictures of it today. It is an '84. I don't realy know much more about it now than what I've already told you. The former owner says it is complete, and should just need a bit of minor assembly to be running. He does say it has a pretty weak engine, so we might want to look for a new engine pretty soon.
