Another vacuum problem....
I hate that my first post has to be one asking for help but I'm desperate. First of all sorry for the lengthof this post but I figue the more info the better. I have an '01 F250 with a diesel motor and my climate control and 4 wheel drive are not working properly. My climate control is stuck on defrost, but when I turn my 4 wheel drive on, after about 30 seconds my climate control will function normally for about a minute and then it will go back to defrost. I know the vac pump is running all the time. I checked what was happening underhood and found that the vacuum switch valve was clicking when the 4wd switch was turned allowing vac to pass to the climate control. I would assume that vacuum is supposed to go to the climate control all the time. The next time the vacuum switch valve clicked the line to the climate control lost vacuum. I am a mechanic and am pretty confident in my ability to figure out this problem but I don't know how the system is supposed ot function normally which makes it kind of difficult to troubleshoot. Any insight you might have would be great. Thanks in advance.........
