New, with a question.

New to these forums (found it doing a search to get the keyles entry code), but ive owned my 01 Limited V10 4x4 for about 8 months now.I paid a little more than most of you though mine had 69xxx miles and I paid $17000 for it. I would post a pic but it looks like every other 01 limited that I see white with gold trim.I mainly bought the truck to hall the family and my 04 Mach 1.
My question is what issues do these trucks have? Right know im in the process of brakes and rotor replacments.

um, door lock motors are probably going to go south (if they haven't already) but the good news is that its a cheap and easy DIY fix

The only other thing I can think of is that I heard somewhere about the early excursions (01-02) having some problem with the trans, but I can't remember exactly what it was... I have a '00 V10, and apparently, it was too early for this defect, so I'm not sure on the the specifics. I would search this forum for info on that... I've seen a few threads about it.

But I have a 00 X V10 4x4 limited, so we have similar trucks. I am the original owner and have almost 97K on it, so I can tell you can't go wrong with these trucks... they are really dependable trucks

Ok my truck was built 9/00 that falls in the bad tranny months. How can I tell if the tranny has been fixed or replaced?

If it doesn't say reman or rebuilt, you may have had it done. Hard to say. Because I can take it to a shop and they can do it without stamping it to say so, you can't tell.
