Problem Solvered!
Anyone has seen my posts knows I'm a better plumber than auto electrician - and I'm a carpenter by trade.......so that probably tells you about my plumbing skills!

So I wired up the trans temp gauge last night and it wasn't all smooth sailing, basically it didn't work - but much trouble shooting later I got it too work!
Turns out one of the splice connectors hadn't worked and I wasn't getting any earth - but eventually worked it out!
Some of the wires weren't where the destructions said they'd be due to a turbo timer removing that part of the harness etc & so forth but with patience and a test light we worked our way around and found another red with yellow trace ignition source wire.
I went to bed pretty happy we had done well - until today!
Damn me........when I went driving in the truck - the interior light wouldn't switch off when the door shut OR on the timer delay afterwards either!
Well I pondered this a loooong time - trying to nut it out - then the rest of the time, I spent thinking bout how I would word the post to the forum for help!
Just before I had it all nutted out - I was messing with the lights control wistfully wondering what I'd stuffed up - when I rotated the little dimmer dial on the dash for the instrument lights and "discovered"...that it locks to the ON position at full illumination and keeps the interior light on!
Insert Homer Simpson "Doh" here!
I've only had the truck a couple months or so and I'm STILL finding out "stuff" about it!
All the same, I'm glad I didn't post up here about it, abd reveal myself for the idiot I am!....oh wait -I just did - didn't I!
Insert another Homer Simpson Doh here!
Cheers!

It is a good policy never to expose...errr reveal oneself. Anyhow, glad the problem is solvered.

We have all made some silly discoveries at one time or another though.
