Angry Job being challenged.

My job is being challenged. The union came to me today saying that a greivence has been filed against me saying I'm not qualified to do the work. The guys I'm working with were kinda of surprised, because they saw I was doing the work better than the guy I replaced. So now I'm going to compile my qualifications of work I have done like the Bobcat work, welding working at Access 2000 when they first started. and other jobs I have done like moving houses and buildinga campground.
So I'm contacting people who have hired me over the years and the couses I took to write letters to help argue why I should not have the job. Our union is so full of BS. They would not say who is filing agaisnt me, but the wording they used was exactly the same wording a fella I know that worked with that would sell his mother to get ahead in life said the same thing to me. He has a chip on his shoulder about being bumped out of maintenace a few years back and wants back in. They don't want him back he is lazy and did a lot of screwups.
So here I am tonight with a stress headache talking to all these people who hired me to clean warehouses build a parking area for their staff parking, Demolition jobs I have also done. It can go on. Problem is these jobs were never fulltime. They were casual jobs picked up here and there everyyear.

When the hearing is not known at this time. I was only given a heads up today. RRRRRRRR

I hear you Glen, I work in a union as well and I can't stand it. I don't mean to offend any union lovers, but from what I've seen they only benefit lazy, dumb and dishonest people. Grrrr!!!!

Too bad it`s starting all over again, you just don`t have any luck with maintance jobs lately.
Too bad you couldn`t strike out on your own by forming a company and avoid all this BS. You don`t need this added stress, try to not let it get to you.
Get your wife to expand her shop and hire you for the maintance work....

This is the crap I hate. I seen the benefits of unions, but sadly our union reps tend to protect themselves and the lazy asses and dishonest. I have lost a lot of respect of the unions.
I have just over 4 years to go and I can retire with a pension. The plan is to get this blacksmithing course and learn the tricks of the trade. Also want to learn how to do powder coating so when I make those arbors and such from the blacksmithing I can give them a powdercaot to last. This way I can work from home and also help my wifes business also. No more of the BS the union has.

Can you turn that in their face and get the union to stand up for you? I havent been in any union jobs since working at the potash mine, but there has to be something.
The biggest thing you have to be careful with now is stress management - easy for someone on the outside to say but that stuff can be serious. Stay in touch and feel free to use us as a sounding board if you need to vent.

Try to hang in for the last four years. It would be a shame to loose it with so little time to go. You may actually need it later in life.

I feel for you Glen. I see the same kinda crap at work all the time. It makes a guy mad for sure. I was hoping that this time you'd just be able to work away without this political stuff getting in the way. Like the other guys have said, we're behind you Glenn. Hang in there!

Hey the emerg staff here are writing a letter to help me out. They have had me up there today and worked in there all day and they loved the work and suggestions I given them. So they are writing a letter recommending me for my work skills and professionalism at doing the jobs well done and quickly responding to their needs. This is from the heads of the emergency here. It may not help, but sure would give some people a notice how they are screwing the system and that the person causing me the grief will see he has some big shoes to fill after if he wins the greiveance.
