Has anyone purchased these from summit yet. They are suppose to be High Performance COP. I wonder if it would help MPG any? They are pretty cheap too.I have a expedition 4x4. I wonder if it would help performance and MPG? I also wonder about the life of them? Can they go 100,000 miles?
i don't know about the accel cops. i tried to find out some information on them myself and came up with nothing. i will be installing this weekend a set of the msd 82428 cops. they just came out and i know i can trust msd. i will let you know how they work. i have a few factory cops that seem to be missing. i was told that the computer will not read a misfire unless it is a complete misfire. so i think i just have a few weak cops that are on there way out. that is why i went out and got new ones.
Well my motorcraft COP's have gone over 200K, not to mention the system puts out something like 60K volts which is more than enough for the plugs. To me the only reason to go with them would be if they are cheaper than a replacement Motorcraft COP and you need one. I wouldn't expect any better mileage out of them unless your stock ones are in terrible shape, in which case any new COP would increase mileage and power.
Unless your engine is high mileage or having other problems, hotter spark won't help anything.
These modulars are already so low in CO (carbon monoxide - the result of inefficient combustion) that a hotter spark won't help anything, nor will it help in MPGs.
If you're replacing a bunch of COPs at a clip, it can't hurt though and they are pretty cheap, apparently...

How did you make out with the msd swap? Did it help anything or just correct broken original cops.?
Im putting the MSD cops on my 5.4 also, I may not need them but I like the product, and since there only 48 bucks apiece i might as well replace them when I have the plugs out.
