6.9 to 7.3 help!

I have a 85 6.9 F-250 and I'm puting a 7.3 out of a van in it. I have it droped in and mounted up but I'm running into some problems with the wiring. I left all the wires on the motor when I pulled it But they dont match the ones in the 85 truck. Is there a adaptor kit for this? or do I have to put the entire under hood wires from the 7.3 van and use it on the 85. Also is there any other problems I might run into, finishing this up. Thanks

Wow. That's a good one. What year is your van? I seem to remember a fella in here that was into vans, diesels, and 4x's. Let me look up some of my old posts and I'll get back to ya.

The harnesses are different, so you have to go all 85 or all to the other. The filter setup is different, but better. The glow plug style and controller is different. Otherwise, it is all the same. You could change the glow plug harness out, if you have the controller for the 7.3, but if you don't you will need to change out the glow plugs and all, but I would find a way to keep them in there, as the newer design is better. The water in fule sensor is in the filter, rather than in the crappy water separator on the firewall, which likely is disconnected anyway... Main concerns are the injection pump and glow plugs. Sensors are likely to be different as well, but just change them out for the 85 units if they are.
Almost forgot, the oil cooler will need to be changed, and there was another issue, probably the motor mounts is what I'm thinking of... there are a few guys that have gone through this, try asking in the prepowerstroke forum, and I am sure they will let you know what I missed.
