Great pictures rubberduck. I feel a lot more confident about it the piping now. My only question is about the A/C condenser. I don't really understand why youhave to bend the brackets back? Does it stick out further towards the grill? Is it easier to install if the bumper is removed?
this guy is one of the best sources for intercoolers and piping. I found him after i bought mine. the auction is just for the cooler but he told me add $10 for pipes. so for 85 plus 60 shipping you get the piping and cooler. also ask him about clamps and hoses I am sure he has those.
There was a early 99 ypipe on ebay just a few days ago. That would be the cheapest. You can order them from your dealer too, but dont know how much they are new.
early 99 y's are no longer availble at the dealers. they don't even have a supplier for them. so ebay and junk yards will be your best bet. it's not too hard to build one from the orginal y-pipe if you have a welder and can get some pipe.
I got a used bank y-pipe for $50. so just keep yours eyes open and you should stumble across something soon.
I to am in the process of collecting all the pieces to build me an intercooler setup. Have intercooler and pipes from latermodel but no time. There is a truck on ebay right now that used my idea on a cheap y pipe, by useing the stock one cut a little. If you type in this item number in ebay search it will come up. 260078339657 It's a nice truck but I don't like his boots on the piping. Also you can see egt probe in downpipe
That install looks like crap, I see what your talking about just turning the stock one around. I bet it can be done but it please take more time than this guy did to make it look good.
The cool side looks ok but how do you pore oil in? The hot side was just thrown together.
I agrea totally on the install looks bad but I was just trying to show the y-pipe part. I know some people that had to get the oil fill extension off of a superduty to be able to add oil.
Sorry to hijack but does it matter which way the air flows through the intercooler. In other words can it take the hot air in on the passengerside and the cold air out on the driver side.
yes as far as I know it can be reversed. any 6.0 IC will be flowing in reverse if installed in out truck anyway. the 6.0 cold side is on the driver side.
