95 P/S Insta off ?

I've been a tech for 23 years and I have done my best to stay away from these noisey things but the day has come.I have a 95 250 PS that just shuts down.Driving or idle.just like you hit the key. Starts right back up instantly with out an issue. When your driving it seems to go in spurts,it will be good for awhile and then about 4 or 5 hard shut downs and then back to life.Lot's of power, runs well, except fpr that. What's a good starting point?

CPS cam position sensor is a good place to start. It's on the front of the engine about 10 o'clock. It's a common problem. Search this site for CPS, tons of info.

Welcome to FTE! Lots of good knowlegable guys here to help.

Sounds like CPS to me also. Get it from your local International dealer, much cheaper than Ford.

If it turns out to be a bad CPS then buy 2 and carry 1 in the glove box for a spare.

As utahcrew said, try ebay. You can find them at a good price there. If you just have to have it now, International is the only way to go, price wise.
