hey guys I've been following this site for a wile and get a lot of good info this is my first post and I hope someone can help with this cause I got no idea how to even diagnose this. I just bought a 96 f250 7.3 PS and a few minutes after starting it it just quits. It'll starts right up again and may even do it when out on the road but mostly right after starting. I had this same thing with my 02 and never figured it out. this one does it more often. ANY IDEAS

 

Have you changed the cps?

 

That crazy CPS can do some weird things. I would swap it out to see if anything changes, and you will have a spare if your current one is good.

well I ordered one and it showed up today but since I just bought the truck I did the usual stuff you do. Oil. fuel filter ect. when I went to do the fuel filter and fuel mod wile I was there I found ounces of dirt in the bottom of the bowl. I cleaned it all up and it hasn't done it since so ill wait and see. But now I'm just worried that one of the tanks is full of sh!!

 

how did the filter look?
are you positive it was dirt? was it black? it could have possibly been injector o-ring debris.

yeah it was dirt or rust and a lot of it. I cant imagine o rings adding up to a pile that big. But now that's in my head
