Is there a capital letter stamped into the head at a front corner near the valve cover surface? It sounds like you have some 60 something 289 or 302 heads, those were the only one's I know of with stud mounted rockers. The GT40/P heads have that sequence cast into the body near the exhaust ports, so they're easy to ID and I'm pretty sure they have pedistal mount rockers.

what size spark plug?
what do you mean by stud mounted?
Are the studs screw in or are they pressed in?
Are the rockers rail type?

please try and answer all questions we are throwing at you....Might be able to narrow it down...

well the plugs being 5/8 well eliminate D0OE they had 13/16 plugs
the studs are screwed in so they are not factory....
Rail type not mount.....the rockers will have edges at the end of the rocker that hold it over the valve stem....
like these

dose it have guide plates under the studs?

not rail mount....(Rail Type) (rail rockers) has nothing to do with the way you mount it

is there a nut under the rocker that would allow you to remove the stud?
