I got the ideal from my buddies 06-F150, they come with a little hook for this purpose.
I didn't like how my gas cap touches the truck when refueling, So i got a .99 cent stainless I-hook with 1/4"-20 threads, cut off part of the I-hook and put a protective cap on the end. I drilled a 3/16" hole in the gas door arm, then tapped with a 1/4"-20 tap, threaded in the I-hook and used a nylock nut on the back side, (the bolt has to be flush with the back side of the arm, or it might rub)fficeffice" /><O></O>
That's interesting you have the three prong fuel cap. Mine's threaded But yeah, I just did what Ron did. Removed the fuel cap from the strap, I hated the cap rubbing against my truck while refueling.
