Question MBRP 4" install question

I just recieved my new ss 4" exhaust from MBRP friday. I just was checking it out today and wondered hmmm after I sawzall the old downpipe off and have the old exhaust removed, will the new MBRP downpipe fit up there without removing the transmission crossmember? anybody have and experience on installing it? hopefully it will fit right up there without any problems. I plan on doing the install next weekend. thanks jeff

Yes the only reason you would need to drop the transmount is to get the old system out without cutting it. It only takes a couple of hours.

No need to remove the crossmember. I installed the 4" MBRP system as a one man project. Just take your time and make sure everything has the necessary clearances prior to tightening.

I plan on cutting the old one off anyway, my question is after i get the old one off (without dropping the crossmember) can i install the new downpipe with the crossmember still inplace or will it be in the way for getting it up there?

Make sure you have the cross-member in place when you install the exhuast.

I foolishly put on the exhaust and only later learned that I had a little interfernce with the cross-member when I went to put it back in.

no need to remove any thing but teh old pipe. but it sure helps if you have a pit to work in to walk around. course not ever one gets that lucky. or a lift helps too.
but once in, you can adjust it all laying on the ground.

you can do it without removing it. It also helps to have two people. I did mine laying on the ground. It would have been a real pain if my brother wasnt there to help. You just got to fish it up from the bottom and try to find a way to keep it there til you can bolt it up to the turbo if you dont got someone up top to do that for you. I also had to drop my spare tire to put it over the back axle. And make sure to soak the rubber mounts real good to help with removal of the old exhaust.
