head porting ?

im porting my 390 heads as of now and i have a question. Ive heard different opinions on porting the intake ports in the head. Some say to polish up and some say don't so it will cause the fuel to spin????

do not polish smooth the intake side, the roughtness helps atomize and mix fuel with the air, but the exaust side can be smooth. also a good idea is th smooth out the top side of the head so oil can flow back to the pan better.

on your exhaust port concentrate on the top side of the port. The way the exhaust will flow is up throught the valve and hit the top side of the port. So this is were I did alot of my polishing and porting. The intake I kinda concentrated on the bottom side since the air flows down through the port... But leave the roughness in the intake side
