Noisy PCV valve?
Man, I just noticed a really loud rattling, quick rapping noise on the passenger side valve cover on the engine (5.4). At first I thought it was something in the valve train or maybe a bad injector, but as I poked around, I moved the PCV valve around and the hose that goes back to the back of the engine. Moving it definitely quieted down the PCV valve some, but it stills sounds like it's rattling, and the remaining vibration/rattling that I feel when I touch the PCV with engine running matches the sound I am hearing. I just replaced it last summer. I can't be bad already. What could make it that loud? I pulled it out and found it was clear and functioning fine. The hose leading to the back of the engine is clear. The engine runs great otherwise.
