Yea it all works but the cd player. It tries to find track 1 and never does...tried all 6 slots too.
Dad gum things are going for about $350 on eBay...that sucks!
id say that the unit is trashed. i would recommend an aftermarket cd player before a factory unit, they are far superior

I tend to agree, but will an aftermarket radio have a 6 cd in dash player, interface with the rear entertainment system, steering wheel controls, etc? If not, then no thanks. It's gonna have to integrate completely or it aint gonna happen.
Prostock - sounds to me like the optical pick up may be out of alignment and/or in need of a professional cleaning. The unit is not able to read the TOC (Table Of Contents) on the disc and sees no usable information. Check with a local electronic repair shop and see if they are able to clean/align the unit. Its $40 well spent if they are able to diagnose/fix the problem.
On a side note - Most aftermarket radios are NOT far superior to OEM in any way other than offering more bells and whistles. Performance/reliabilty wise a FACTORY deck is often better than the everage $149 'big box' special.

Well that makes sense. There is a guy on fleabay that is offering to service just the cd portion of these radios, for $70(he indicates that you can remove the cd changer portion from the rest of the unit). So that tells me that they are problematic, but probably fixable. Checking a local electronic shop? Not in this 1-horse town, but we are going to Austin soon and I could poke around there to see if anyone can look at it. I desperatly want to stay with the factory unit.
