Im thinking of doin daul 3inch exhaust,if they will fit ,if not 2.5,or should i run single 4.what is your opinion? Also should do the air intake first?Or does it matter in what order they are done?
The truck is 1991 f250 xlt lariat ext cab long box zf transmission 4x4 with 4.10s.
Thanks
Pabs
Single 3 or 4 inch would be a good place to start. Dual 2 1/2 or 3 if you just want the cool factor. Not much room for the separate pipe on Fords. I'd do the exhaust first, then the intake to see how much it helps.
With a single 2.5" the area of the opening is 4.91 square inches
With a single 3" the area of the opening is 7.07 square inches
With dual 2.5" the combined area of the openings is 9.82 square inches
With a single 4" the area of the opening is 12.57 square inches
With dual 3" the combined area of the openings is 14.14 square inches
HMMMM,
But there still would be a restriction at the y pipe ,what could i do about that?if i went with 3 or 4 inch single?i think the opening is 2.5 is that right? That is why i mentioned 2.5 dauls free flowing from the y pipe back and straight through mufflers? But im not sure i need convincing.Or is there a bolt on system that i could buy?Or is there headers avalible?
Pabs, I have dual 3inch exhaust, it's a tight fit but doable....where abouts are you? I'm in Pitt Meadows.....come on over & take a look if you like.....are you to NW IDI meet & greet sat.?
