Ok.. It's been iced over in Austin this last week.. 25F.. I have ran the truck every day that the ICE has been here.. I let it warm up, it blows White Smoke like mad for a bit.. Expect it because its cold.. Well today was the first non cold non ice day and it just doesnt feel right.. I decided to drop the hammer to see and it just didn't move like I expected.. I even did it at a light and it didn't scream like before.. Could it be that the weather just has it chilled? I didn't plug it in at all.. I'm kinda worried now because it seems fine before the Ice Storm..
Due to the cooled weather, I was wondering if you guys have winter fuel, Try adding an additive that will lower gel points of the fuel, A friend of mine just got back from dallas, said it was awful cold for Texas. Hope this helps.
Halfbolt.

Not sure if we do.. Its fuel from the same station I've always used.. Same fuel in the tank as before the Ice Storm.. I'm just almost empty now lol
Try using the additive and fill the truck up with new fuel, also check your air intake for ice build up or other blockages. Up here in Canada fine snow, can plug off an intake.
According to Vloney, the 6.0L PCM uses inputs from a variety of sensors... one of which is oil temp. The amount of EGR and turbo vane movement is affected by oil temps, EBP and a host of others... so I wonder if your truck is "sluggish" due to it not wanting to "go fast" until things are warmed up more than you think it is????
Hey... when its cold... I move slower too... its part of getting old.

This was after driving 20 mins one way and back.. Just before I got home I decided to punch it to blow out things..
I live probably less than 20 miles from you. My wife is handcapped and I keep the dually ready to move in case it is needed. Every day I would go out and let it idle long enough to clear all the windows, doors, and wiper blades. Yesterday I took it to the local HEB and stomped on through all the gears. I have not seen any smoke whatsoever at any time.
I also would find it hard to believe that the local walmart (where I buy my diesel) has fuel formulated for cold weather - but maybe they do.
Do you guys see a drop in fuel mileage around September or later and then it comes back about April??? I can tell once the stations up here switch to winter blend fuel from mileage. I usually drop about 1 mpg once switched to winter blend regardless of my driving style. If you haven't seen that then maybe you haven't got winter fuel. May want to try an anti gel to get rid of any gel and water. I use it in the summer every tank to just for cetane boost etc. Should help.
I noticed about 1 MPG less starting in December. I had no problems with the cold weather. I did have the usual white exaust which is probably moisture in the exaust, but it goes away when it's warm. Does the turbo pressure move when you step on it?
