I have a full set of autometer gauges on the piller.boost, egt's,and a tranny temp.yes it is a 5speed but I like to keep and eye on it.the airflow is really simple.all I did was fab up a custom aluminum tube that runs from turbo to a k&n filter that is suffed between the radiator and the battery with a shroud to keep out the junk.I picked up about 3lbs or boost.we did an air flow test and picked up about 20% more air.as we all know the only way to build more power is more fuel and air.good luck telling all these domb kids that.
the egts is what concerns me right now.I think I have the airflow to keep the mixture right.my truck dosen't blow smoke until I hit about 2500 rpms. every body says O thats perfect but I know that I get a little more power.the smoke isn't thick its more of a haze than a big dark stream.

That's a pretty good description of where mine's at with my foot in it pulling that 12% grade by my house. You can see a little haze on a sunny day.
I'd like to turn it up another half-flat, but I'm concerned about the EGTs.....
they max out 15lbs on boost and that really hammerin on it and the egts max aout around 630.its cool running engin the temp never touches the N on the gauge unless I'll pulling a heavy load and its gose no further than the N.referin to the word normal across the top of the gauge
my pump is an after market performance unit so it already has a higher rate or flow.I also have a full cool air induction unit no air box.you may be able to crank it up one full flat or a hair more if you can feed the air to it.
The turbo manufacturers say 12 is max, so you're already out in no mans land. That being said, mine has gone to 18 psi, but the temp gauge started going right over. After that I turned the pump down a flat and it hangs around 15 pounds max. I have a pyro for it, but never have put it on. If I get a chance, I'm going to try getting it installed tomorrow. Be nice to finally find out how hot it's been getting. Can you tell I'm a diesel mechanic? Never get a chance to work on my own stuff.

What maxes out at 15?
Is your thermocouple before the turbo or after it?
Hey Malcolm, if 15 is no mans land, where am I?
I pass 20 at 2500 RPM.
Disclaimer, do not attemp to run boost numbers like mine in a stock engine.
Mine is modified a little more than most.
15 PSI boost is pushing the limit rather hard as far as head gaskets go.

Not sure yet. I've just finished running my second tank down far enough to be ready to fill 'em both back up again. I'll be doing that tomorrow, so I'll get back to ya' and let ya' know what it cost me on my rig....
my turbo pulls 15 lbs not bad I think for a non-wastegate turbo.it stays fairly cool couse I have a masive exaust.I also fabed (I'm a welder)a 3in X-over pipe from the stock 2 1/4 that made a big difference.I think I need headers though.
