I am going to miss him. He was geniune and was a true racer. Guys like him are what made Nascar Nascar. The guys of today are stiff and bland.
Kenny Wallace said it best. Todays Nascar fan dont really know who Benny Parsons and Darrel Waltrip were.

God blessed us.
He gave us Benny Parsons.
One of the last of an aging, and unfortunately dying, group of men.
I don't follow NASCAR much any more, and don't really miss it.
I will miss Benny Parsons.
He, along with Neil Bonnet, were two fine gentlemen.

Sad to hear it, but I think we all saw this coming. Last year Benny really didnt look or sound too good on TV and we all knew it was only a matter of time.
Benny was a real class act and IMO he represented the good ole boy roots that NASCAR has seemed to have lose lately.
We could use more men like BP and fewer of the California open-wheel spikey-haired pretty boys in NASCAR.

Another link to racing's glory days gone, but never forgotten... rest in peace, Benny. You are a true racer's racer, and a legend of the sport.

Does anyone know if he was a smoker? I quit about 4 months ago after 17 years and I wonder if I quit to late.

BP was truly a pleasure to hear during races. He had great insight and commentary all coming from a true NASCAR veteran and Champion.
Rest in Peace BP.
