I have read a few sites talking about acetone in fuel to reduce the surface tension and leading to beter atomization of the fuel. Never tried it though. I did read where apparently it was fairly common in Southeast Asia and they had some bad experiences with the chemical reaction to gaskets, o-rings and seals to the point where it has supposedly been banned by government authority.
Being that I'm not a chemist (although I did stay at a Holiday Inn once. A long time ago. And I did abuse the mini-bar, but I digress) and I have never tried using acetone in a lawn mower engine let alone a real vehicle, and the only knowledge I have is what I have read, I wouldn't try it.
If you try this stuff on anything, I think you are rolling the dice.
