Anyone in here know the type of sheet metal nut is use on the fenders, Iknow they are 5/6-24 thread but what is the distance from the hole to the bend of the clip.
Wow thanks ND!!!!!!!
Now I don't think those are Ford part numbers but are they?? Kind of new at this...The only fastners I could find in kit form were stainless and I would prefer the regular black oxide coated.

Yes, those are Ford part numbers. Ford hardware numbers..."Standard Parts" is what Ford calls them.
I listed both the Ford number and the sizes...you might find some of those numbers still around in the dusty Ford dealers standard parts bins. Hardware usually isn't tossed out, and if the dealer is still in an older building, you might luck out finding the hard to find 'nuts and retainers' (blind nuts).
When dealers move into new quarters, it's the norm to toss the old stuff...well that's usually the case...but it isn't always true. The L/M dealer in Marysville, CA in a brand new building....was loaded with NOS. Notice I said was !!

Hey! Thanks for the tip on Auto body clips! Rusty and missing fasteners are a real problem on these old trucks. I did order a fastener kit from LMC for my grille but there are still fenders and other problems. I also have a 66 Ranger to work on after I get "Old Rusty", my driver out of the shop.

Wow your not quite a newbie and your responding to an 8 year old thread.
Good thing it's the same information that would be given today.
