I am running 315/76/16 BFG mud terrains with a 2.5" add-a-leaf in the front. I am running an 8" wide wheel also. I had to do some slight trimming to the front bumper but less than an inch.
There are a few companies that make a 305/70/16. Go to tires.com and plug in the size.
Are you keeping factory rims? If not, you need to check the offset of whatever you're putting on. What doesn't rub on a factory rim may rub on an aftermarket due to the spacing.
When my truck was stock, I had 295/75/16's on factory rims w/ no rubbing.
With a 3" leveling kit, I rubbed a little with 305/70/17's on 17x9" rims. I don't remember the backspacing off the top of my head, but could probably find it if you're looking at rims. They were the Helo Maxx 8's.
I ran the BFG AT KO 305/70/16 last set with no rub stock height. There were none available when I needed new ones 2 months ago.
I guess they redesigned it a little and it has a slightly higher speed rating now.
I had to settle with BFG AT KO 295/75/16 this go round. I have to say they have 500lbs more capacity and are better in the white stuff, but they don't look as good .
The extra 1/2" makes a noticeable difference.
I put 35x12.5x17 on my 2000 SD F250 4x4 without any lifts. I had to heat and push in the rear inside of the plastic wheelwells about an inch. Other than that I did not have any rubbing. I did put the 35's on aftermarket wheels though. Could not put them on stock wheels without rubbing hard.
