Here's one that's quite a survivor. Original everything, so the seller claims, from the tires to the engine paint. I think I believe him. Have a look at the pics.
That's not a 51 front end. It's all 52. Hood trims are different than 51 and the upper grille panel is different than a 51. Fenders aren't F1 either. I would agree that it is rather strange that a 51/52 cab would have a small rear window.
More history on this truck would be helpful.

Even the tailgate latches appear to be late model BB (52). It is a strange thing for sure to see the small window on it. Clearly a case where some close-up inspection would be valuable, I'm guessing that someone grafted a small window onto a 52 cab. Could be 20 pounds of bondo on it! Which fenders do you think aren't F-1?
What's with the serial number (98RW160448)? Is that a special construction VIN?

The 98RW is a F5 prefix. 134" Wheelbase. The truck is clearly an F1. I'm not sure if someone had the title to an F5 and did not have one for the F1 so they used the F5 VIN Tags and title or if this is one of those rare weird ones that was mis-stamped. My guess would be the former given all of the other bizarre stuff on it.
I sent the guy a note asking for the firewall stamping and any history he may have on it explaining that I'd never seen an F1 with the 51/52 dash and the 48-50 rear windows. There were rumored to be some 50's with the large rear window but I've yet to come across one and I've been looking. Also, this is supposed to be a 49. He did reply and asked for a phone number (which I gave him) to have the owner call me and said he'd get me the firewall stampings. Will see if I hear from him.

That's what scares me about people buying titles! No way I would touch this truck, even with the "rare" 429 (they made probably a quarter million of them)!
All these trucks are almost enough to make me get one of those big ol' home equity loans.. Heck I could by three or four of them.............. OK Honey, I'm turning the computer off and going to BED!!!!!!

That truck is scary, the bed looks to be a 51/52 F-1 box (flat bedsides), and 52 F-1 clip (had to look twice.. it almost looked like a F-2 or larger clip) The small window cab with a 51/52 dash just confused the heck out of me. Does anyone else see all the waves in the body panels?
I saw a truck a lot like this up here in Michigan a few years ago at a car show.. He swore it was all original body (thats what the previous owner told him). Was a 1952 F-2 cab and clip put on a 1950 or earlier F-1 frame with the 48-50 F-1 bed... The differant fenders (mixing 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton) stuck out like a sore thumb.
