Hey guys...I've been wanting a '48-'50 Ford Truck for a long time, and am finally getting serious about getting one to tinker with (As if the painfully slow restoration on my '61 VW crew-cab isn't enough pain and agony lol).
I want a 1/2 or 3/4 ton, and I can't find a website with any info on stock specs such as their weight etc.
Can anyone hook me up?
Thanks!
Although I don't know much on the 48-50 trucks there are several others on the forum who will be along to help you out. Try a search also and you will probably get more reading material than you will want.
Welcome we like Noobs they are fun to play with like a dog's chew toy. That is a little older than I am used to I was just starting puberty when they were new. I am sure some folks can help confuse you more than you were before though.
There, fixed!
Only funnin, this is a great group and very helpful to boot! Pull up a chair and set a while, we have cookies!

Cookies? Since when have we had them.. must have missed them somehow...
But anyways, welcome aboard. As you'll hopefully learn, this is a pretty good group and a wealth of information. Feel free to ask away with questions, but try to do a search first since a lot of things have been brought up before.
As far as specs, I can't help too much with the 48-50's (I'm a 1952 fan).. but I do have a stack of resources for the 52's (51's). If you have specific questions ask.
I know it's late in the evening, but some of the guys will eventually chime in. I've got dimension specs in my diagrams gallery, but no weight numbers.
My suggestion would be to look for a repro copy of the "Operators Manual F Series Bonus Built Trucks dated 3/9/49. It will have all of the Spec info you are looking for. Also, take a look at getting a repro shop manual. Together these will cost under $50.00 and they are a wealth of information.
