vettdvr, I waited until it got up around zero, the heater must have been working, fired right up. Again this morning, around 5 below, fired right off. I don't understand why it wouldn't start Friday, acted like the heater never came on.
fatswany, I'd bet that either the prongs on the truck's plug are corroded or the plug on the end of your extension cord is flaky. Most likely the latter, as these days it seems I need to replace the outlet end of every cord within a few months.
OK, I know this is a terrible question, but I have never had to use the engine block heater. Where is the plug located?? I lived in Phoenix forever and it's always warm and sunny there. Kinda funny, I'm in Austin, TX now same as ECA. The last couple of days have been chilly to say the least, it was snowing earlier today. Thanks for helping this dope out!

Thanks for the point in the right direction, ECA. I knew it was under there, just never wanted to crawl all the way under there. My 02 Ex. was the same size as yours, this 04 I have now, is basically stock height. I have an extra leaf front and rear for help with the load and sway.
Finding it wasn't too tough, but getting that thing out of there was another story! It might not have been so bad if it wasn't SNOWING!! Anyway I got it, and she will sleep warm tonight!
I checked your website and will have to get some directions on where to fish these local lakes to catch a few. Still new here and haven't ventured out too far. Shoot me an email sometime.... and thanks again for the help.
