Everything is heating up,but when the truck stops moving, the heat turns cool.
When I take off again, it heats right up. When its in park, I rev the engine a liitle, it comes out hot again.
I never heard of this problem.
It is a 79 F-150 2 wheel drive 6 cyl.
Any Ideas?
You have a vacuum problem. The doors in the heat/AC box under the dash are usually vacuum operated. If you loose engine vacuum, the doors close and you loose heat. Check for vacuum leaks and if you can't find any, add a check valve and vacuum canister.
Thanks for giving knowledge. That is what the napa kid suggested as well. I drained and filled my radiator today. The problem was, that it wasn't yet full.
It was a half gallon low. It was full when I filled it, then I drove it (and was having the problem),then checked it again, it was low, ooops.
I think the vacumm leak might be an issue as well. Thanks again.
