My 05 expedition has heated and a/c seats. The a/c works fine. The heated seat on driver side quit working for a few months, then started working again. It stopped working again so I assumed a shorted out wire. When I push the button it will not heat up. The light comes on but only blows cold air. So I thought some kind of heating element. I took it in to ford with my extended warranty and was told it is not covered due to the cushion being calapesed. I am shocked. They said it could have been previous owner. The driver seat it not indented or anything different than passenger side. Also they said no air flow for the heat part but that's not true b/c it blows cold air, just never heats up. Does anyone know what else this could be? Is there a heating element? Is there a fan motor? Any ideas for me to tell them to look at will help. Thanks!!!

 

UPDATE!!!!
I just left the dealership that has my car. An inspector from my warranty is coming out to inspect my seat to see if they will cover it. I got to to talk to the tech that has been working on my car and guess what??? THE HEATED SEAT IS WORKING AGAIN. he said he didnt change anything, was just loking around. I explained that I now truley believe there is some kind of short somewhere, as it has stop working and started working on its own before. the down side is that they wont fix a short, it has to not be working when i bring it in... well it wasnt working when i brought it in!!!!
