what do you use

my truck is all original and I want to try to preserve the door panels and dash pad for a few more years. What do you guys use or recommend as the best way to keep these vinyl pieces from cracking and getting brittle. I have heard Armoral will actually dry them out more. Any opinion's???

You don't want to use a silicone it will stop air flow and won
t let vinyl breathe therefore drying it out. You will want to use a conditioner, check out the line ups on the popular brands of detailing products, no silicone. sun is a enemy hard to stop that but that doesn't help either

I've had quite a good success using a lite coating of vaseline or bag balm for cows, applied to the plastics.

I've also noticed that a truck that was regularly smoked in has better looking and preserved interior plastics, but I do not recommend that.

Try parking in the shade a lot. or a garage.

It really is a downhill battle with these types of things.

Window tint and dash cover probably would help as well.

I use Meguiar's natural shine one my stuff. I live in the high desert climate where weather is very hot & dry in summer and can get very cold in winter. Right now we are at minus 6 below zero. I have used Meguiar's products for many years.
