65 2wd cab on 65 4x4 frame

I have a 65 f100 4x4 with nonexistent front cab mounts. I also have a 65 2wd parts truck w/ zero rust.

I know the cabs are different.

I haven't really measured anything out yet but i was wondering if it was as simple as putting the 2wd front cab mount horns on 4x4 frame to make the 2wd cab fit?

Or is it way more extensive?

Any and all input will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

tobygo67 Welcome to and the Slicks Forum

I believe the 4wd used the 61-64 frame mount that changed in 65. Surely with a little massaging you can make it work, and keep your big ol Slick smile.

Thanks John.

I know the front cab mounts are different, but I'm unsure if the rear mounts are the same.

Is this a common swap? Its there a thread about someone doing this or a how to?

Thanks again in advance to your help!

No sir not common, not aware of link. Guys are doing much more cutting than they did a few years ago, so there could be.

I'm not sure the 65 has the support under the cab to bolt the cab on the frame may have to fab that in, because im thinkin that the 65 front mounts would interfere with the steering on the 4x4?
I think the rear mounts are the same

I would take the cab mounts off the 2wd and put them onto the 4x4 frame and make it work for you. I put a 65 2wd cab on my 66 F100 4x4; but being a 66; it was a direct bolt on.
