hi all well here goes. I have a 2000 f-250 S/D diesel 7.3 w/ 57000 miles.
this is the problem I went to lowe's last nite which is a ten minute ride brought what i needed and went to start trk and nothing all the normal lights came on on the dash but did not crank. I left trk there and came back in morning trk started right up. Now have had brought trk to ford but they could not repicate problem thought that there might have been a glitch in the system but no problem codes. so now its back there again. any solutions
If automatic was it in park or neutral? Did you try other positons with the shifter or tilt column? If manual was clutch fully depressed? Clean connections on battery?

when you say it won't crank. you got nothing not even a sound? as if someone disconnected the batteries?
For what its worth, I had a similar experience when the factory batteries were nearing the end of their life expectency. Since the F250 SD is a two battery system, one of the batteries was fine (the one allowing light to come on, etc.) but the other battery was completely dead. The truck needs both batteries in order to crank. Unfortunately, it cost me a tow into the dealership to find out.
welcome aboard scooter. if it would not spin over at all, go get a starter relay and try that. it is a cheap guess and easy to replace because it is in plain sight on the right inner fender. start there.
One of my employees has that truck and it is a problem in the PRNDL switch or something similar, I'm having trouble remembering. I think he has to push up good and hard on the shift lever and wiggle the key switch for it to work. Same deal with him, if that doesn't work occasionally enough time sitting and it seems to reset itself and go right off.
