If you have a part number for them handy. Then bad service would not occur.
Why would a customer need to have the part number? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard!
What is the parts guy good for? Maybe printing out the invoice?
Where the hell are these dealers hiring their help these days?
Regardless of where you go today, the help stinks. The days of partsguys and mechanics being interested in the stuff they're working with has long since passed.
Yes, they are suppose to know. But, to get better and quicker service It is always nice to have it handy. So you can make sure you get the right part. IMO
How can a customer know the part number? What does he use, a oija board, tea leaves, tarot cards?
I love the Ford Dealership I use. I have been buying from them for more then 10 years and several cars. Service is great 99% of the time and when it is not, I have been shopping there long enough to know who to talk to to get it straightened out.
Idiot Sighting:
My husband and I reported to the Ford dealership to pick up our new car. When we arrived, we were told the keys had been accidentally locked in the car. When we went in the back, we saw the mechanic feverishly working to unlock the door. I spoke to him from the passenger side of the car. While standing there, I instinctively tried the door, which OPENED. I told the mechanic "Hey, its open". He replied "Yea, I know but I'm still working on this side".
Its hit or miss,I go to a different ford dealer for service because the one closer to my house was moronic(Dobbs)The dealer I now go to I know the service manager and he takes care of me.The place I bought the truck was worse than Dobbs,I had to call Ford and complain to get something fixed on a brand new 40K+ truck. They never did fix the problem and left me hanging,Ford sent me a generic "Were sorry letter"
GMC was the best dealership I have ever used, easy to buy, easy to service with no hassle.
