Just wanted to let you know the plug was in the mailbox Friday evening when I got home. Not bad turnaround, I orderd it Tuesday morning.
Thanks Ed.
That's another reason I like ordering from Ed. I get my stuff in a few days. I can order on Monday or Tuesday and get the part by the weekend and then have Saturday and Sunday to Install it.
He's tops when it comes to customer service. Sure would like others to take a few lessons from him. Keep up the GREAT WORK ED!!
I too do not understand why shipping is $9.00 for something that will be shipped in a small box or envelope. But Ed has the part at a good price and its the best price I've been able to find, even with shipping.
Because they have to pay an employee to pack it to ship and pay the shipping (which has gotten ridiculous from UPS, FEDEX, or USPS) and that all costs money. He's just passing on his costs so he can stay in business and eat too. Even a simple letter/envelope shipped UPS costs a minimum amount to ship--usually $3-$4 if it just goes across town.
You have to change the filters every 15000 miles, thats the easyest time to drain the seperator. But if you get a bad tank of fuel you will be glad you put the drain **** on.There are several threads written on fuel filters, how to change when to change and what brand is the best.
I just had the oil/filter changed at 3930 miles so it may have been a little premature to change the fuel filters also, which my mechanic didnt do even though i left him with the fuel filters. I was wondering why he left the box unopened and in my truck. He may have drained the water though, still havnt talked with him. I'll be picking up one of those HCFM plugs for easier draining of the water. Looks like i can DIY on the fuel filters and water draining. Thanks!
I just recieved a new style HCFM drain plug ordered from the FORD garage for $18 and some small change. It took a bit of searching for the part even after I gave him the Ford part #. He said it was a relatively new # so he had some problem finding it. They sent in about 4 days.
