Takes all of 5 extra minutes to wire up the bypass module. +12volts and the negative connects to the alarm module.

Oh... I guess I assumed the bypass would be more of a pain than the actual remote starter would be. Thanks for the info.

Nope, the ford bypass is 2 wires plus the antenna ring that slips around the lock cylinder. Its a pretty easy install.

How hard is it to get to the antenna loop. Does the plastic around the lock cylinder have to be removed and if so, how do you get it off without breaking anything or cracking the plastic.

Everything just clicks and snaps off in my dodge but the trim in the interior of the Expedition seems locked in tight. Are there some screws or something I am not seeing...
and where exactly did you buy the modular? I just got off the phone with a Ford dealer and the price you give and the price they gave is a very big difference.

I know its been awhile since this was posted, but you wouldn't happen to have a picture, would you? I'm having a really hard time with my 98 mustang and the ignition/pats system. It was rewired by the po and I'm at a loss. It was somewhat bypassed with push button start and a little chip hanging inside the black ring around the lock cylinder. A couple weeks ago my son drove to store and back, key wouldn't come out, had to disconnect battery. But the car would still start with push button start. Went to work on it today hoping it was the park neutral safety switch or something easy preventing me from turning off key, but now the theft light is on and it won't start. Don't have any chip keys, none came with it and it worked fine for the past few months.

I bought a car with PATS. The guy I bought it from only had one key. A local locksmith cut a new PATS key and programmed it. I paid him $45.

Did he the first key to program the duplicates? Because I don't have a chip key at all. It was starting with a 2 dollar Wal-Mart copy for the last 3 months.

If it is starting without a chipped key either someone hid a chip near the ignition switch or it doesn't have PATS.

I know there's a little wire with a metal tab that hangs in the black ring around the lock cylinder and it was rewired with a push button start.
