More Accessories please.
I have the overhead console with the blank in it and would like to install the trip computer on my '99 Expy. Am I just looking at buying the module, the mirror with compass sensor, and the temp sensor?
I have heard the wire harness might be in the O.H. console?
Otherwise I'm thinking of installing the Scan Gauge II in the blank and one of the autodimming mirriors with compass and OS temp. That should give me more than enough info to distract me with the nav. system and audio.

Looks like I need the message center module, the wire harness, the temp sensor, and the temp sensor wire harness. I'm thinking bone yard for everything $100.00 otherwise looks like 4-$500.00 for new parts.
Or I could just fit the scan gauge II in the blank with a cable from radio shack (CAT5 RJ45 M/F) ,(it comes with a 6' cable that I'm not sure is long enough for the overhead install) for about $170.00 and have way more live info.
Bottom line I have the compass and OS temp in my rear view mirror so the only thing I gain by the factory message center is the nice look and the trip features of mpg info. I guess I'm leaning twards the Scan Gauge II.
