Brrrrrrrrr

Just a short note to let you all know that Winter has finally arrived here... The mercury dropped to 46 below zero last night and is expected to stay there for at least one more day. Anyone else feeling a little chilly today?

It's only about a hundred degrees warmer here this afternoon!

But, it is to get down near freezing for the overnight low.

Stay warm!

Well, out here in the great SW desert we actually had winter for a change. It snowed here the New Years weekend, about a 15" at my house. Normally a snow like that is gone by the next day....not this time. Its been chilly enough that we still have snow covering everything. It got up to mid 40's today and that helped quite a bit.

Look on the bright side, it doesn't take as much energy to keep your frosty beverages cold. On Sunday we just stuffed a 12 pack into the snow piled next to my driveway....woohooo

That's what I love about you Bobby - the glass is always half full ! (and it's a beer glass)

For the past month, most days it gets a little or a lot above freezing here. No real frost in the ground and no snow cover at all.

Got cold here, too. cold enough my tbird's engine blew. Temp gauge near redline, no heat in the car, massive cloud of white smoke, no antifreeze leaks, and 85 miles to get home. I was frozen, bummed, and tired all at once.

Cold Alaska

llewsac -

Funny I just watched this special last night on public tv about a guy name Dick Peoenneke that lived in the wilderness in Alasksa for over 30 years (summers and winters). I am sure you have heard of this guy. Quite a story. Anyway ..... 24 degrees in Michigan and snowing.

Stay warm...

Rich

Of course, Havi, with all that hair you should be able to keep toasty. It's going to snow again this friday, fourth week in a row. This has killed four junkyard runs to find a tranny.

What a screwed up winter! 15 inches @ Bobby's place, here? NUTTIN'! Up until 3 days ago, we had NO snow. When I was a kid, we used to put the ladder up against my parents house and do flips off the roof into the snow. HA HA used to drive my mom nuts!

That's the reason I stay in the south, we have had more cold weather here this year than the last 2 put together, but it's still a light jacket in the morning and short sleeves after lunch.28 this AM and forcast for 60 after noon.
At those temps, Bobby would have to put his frosty beverage in a huggy to keep it from freezing before it could be drank.

rich51fordtruck: Ihave indeed heard of Dick P. . About all I can say of him is... What an amazing man. Only 42 below this morning. Supposed to warm up enough to snow today, as if 3 1/2 feet is not enough.
