You can do it but it's harder to shorten a short wheelbase frame than a long wheelbase frame. The 9" as it is will fit under your F-1 but it might look a little off with the narrow front track width. My Dana 70 has hub to hub measurement of 64.5" and with stock 78 F-250 16" wheels they are easily under the rear fenders.
