tach

If I buy a hook up kit from isspro can I use a auto parts store tach or do I have to use a isspro tach or could it be used to hook up a stock one theres no wires for one on my truck? Thanks

Does your truck have a stock tach in the instrument cluster? If it does, they are not hard to fix, usually it is the sending unit on the IP gear cover.

Yes the year of the truck would be nice so would truck specs.........

Please guys fill out a signature......... FTE unfortunately does not separate the 6.9 and the 7.3 trucks so we need your specific truck info to help you.

Sorry about that I dont have a stock tach or any of the wiring. What i really would like to know is if the kit from isspro will wire a tach from autozone for a gasser or will I have to buy a isspro one? My truck is an 84 f250 with a 6.9.

I doubt it, usually you need to use the ISSPRO sending units with the ISSPRO tachs.

Because the diesel tachs are not relying on a ignition signal like the gassers most manufacturers have there own unique sending units and tach gauges.

question where is the ip gear cover im lost and i always see ip every where was wonderin so i could fix my tach

the ip gear covor is where you put your oil in look strait at the top of your motor when you open the hood. if your tach or sending unit is bad you cant just go find another tach out of another truck i tried the tach and sending units are matched.

The IP gear housing is where you dump the oil in, the tach sending unit is circled and labeled, the tach wire connector is also circled and labeled.
