I hope this is the correct, it`s the best I could do with holding the hood up, a flashlite and writing it down at the same time...If this doesn`t look right I`ll have to do it over again...... SO81BH51-181712
SQ = 176" wheelbase M-6 (Dang, it does have the fenders I want )
81B = Cab and Chassis, Deluxe Cab
H = Built at home office, Oakville Ontario
51 = 1951
181712 = Consecutive truck built (This must be really late production since my truck was 23345 and it was built in March, 51)
I may have to take the plunge and put my spare 51 hood and front Mercury trim on the table. I raise fenders and hood. Your turn Ryan, do you match or fold?
So minus front hubs, wheels, rear axle, steering column, seat belts, engine accessories and distributer. I think he might have to fight preppy for the tranny though.
Sure, if your interested. Maybe I could get a little something in return COUGH front fenders COUGH. The chassis is sound except for the hacked tranny crossmember but any 67-72 one will work, Morris probally has one laying around and there are some cracked rear leafs. The sheetmetal is useless but any cab from 65-79 will bolt right up.

The motor is a 72 429 (All I know is it's blown so I don't know what is salvageable and it has the bad heads) with a 4spd (which also fit 351M/400 engines). The winch is chain driven of the PTO.
As for the hood, it would include the front Mercury name and the deluxe cab side emblems but not the M-3 side spears.
It will also not include the dual horns.
I'm mainly offering this as an incentive to swap fenders. As my truck sits the tires are just tucked under the front fenders. I would like to have a little fender overhang. The F-5/F-6 trucks with the 176" wheelbase have 3" wider front fenders which will work nicely but the bigger trucks are a little harder to find especially with the longer wheelbase.
The fenders I have are the exact same ones used on the shorter wheelbase M-6's so there will no tire rubbing with the 20" wheels. Look at attached picture and you can see there is plenty of extra overhang on your truck.
68 tow truck remains, hood and fenders with trim for a 51 Mercury in exchange for the longwheel base fenders of the M6 grain truck. But what engine accessories are you planning on taking?
Are you sure it is a true 429, what parts are you planning on taking?
If it s not anything to internal sounds like a deal to me.
